Hiking with snowshoes is a silent and pleasant way of moving in many kinds of circumstances and suits many types of weather, also in terrains which are more demanding. Snowshoes are easy to take with you, f.ex. strapped on the backpack.

Scenery route, basic  3 h
Transfer from the Ruka area to the starting place in Pyhävaara. Testing the snowshoes and poles and little of the technic of the walking in the deep snow. This is not very long walk in kilometres, but the first 35 min is uphill =) But we will take it slowly and take many breaks. Start the tour of 3 km.  In a way we will see lovely scenery around the Ruka. In the half way we enjoy hot drinks and little snack. Then coming back to the car and transport back to your hotel. 

Scenery route, EXTRA  4 h
The same program, but also including visiting by car to our huskyfam, where we will have souplunch by the open fire and get to know our sledgedogs.

The charm of Oulanka 5 h 
Transfer from the Ruka area to the starting place in Kiutaköngäs, Oulanka Nationalpark.  Testing the snowshoes and poles and little of the technic of the walking in the deep snow. Start the tour of 8 km.  In a way we will see the Kiutaköngäs rapids in their winter outfit. In the half way we enjoy hot drinks and little snack. Then coming back to the car and transport back to your hotel.  It´s also possible to order soup lunch from our cafeteria in Kiutakängäs Visitor center.
