Rent a canoe !!
Rent a canoe to beautiful Oulanka-river. Our canoes are We-No-Nah and Old Town indiancanoes. Call us first and make a reservation. You will meet our guides in our Safaricafe in the naturecentre in Kiutaköngäs. We will choose you canoe safetywests ( also to your dog, if you like to take it with you =) You can buy some campmeal to take with you or hire the whole backbag from us. Then transfer to the starting point, paddling- and safety instructions.... Let´s paddle! If you paddle to Jäkälämutka (25 km) then we will come a pick you up about 17.00 and we will drive back to Kiutaköngäs.

Guided Canoe trip
Come and take part in our canoeing trip in Oulanka. It´s easy even for the beginner to paddle with Indian canoe.
Canoeing is one of the best activities which Finland with its' thousands of lakes can offer. The river Oulankajoki flows through the Oulanka National Park into the White sea in Russian.Especially the routes starting from Kiutaköngäs are suitable for beginners and families. The river is flowing peacefully from Kiutaköngäs through Nurmisaari and Jäkälämutka. It's mostly flat water and there are no rapids on the way.The route from Savilampi to Kiutaköngäs is also mostly flowing peacefully but there is a big and dangerous Taivalköngäs rapid which you have to pass by land by carrying canoe. Also there are some small rapids which are usually easy but more demanding when water is high.

Prices includes: canoe, lifevests, paddles, drybag, drybag for mobile phone, guide, full instructions on safety and canoeing, picnic lunch,customer transportation back from the returning point to starting point, insurance, taxes. It's also possible to paddle with a kayak.
Husky-hiking
Hiking gets a totally new meaning when you take dog with you. Friendly and nice huskies are really good company. Hike... Walk ... Run ...with the HUSKIES
First you will get a guidance and meet the huskies. We will take one husky per 1 - 2 customers and a belt and a leash. Friendly and strong dogs will easily help you on the trip. And it is very nice to see them working and pulling. We can do trekkings in Oulanka Nationalpark or from our own huskyfarm in Rukajärvi.

HUSKYFARM RUKAJÄRVI , ~ 2h
Transfer to our huskyfarm or coming by bus/ own car. Meet the huskies, guidance, we choose husky to you and you get a belt and leash. Walk about 1 h and then coming back to farm and having a little snack by the open fire.

Transfer to Kiutakönkäs or coming by your own car. Meet the huskies, guidance, we choose husky to you and you get a belt and leash. Also possible to have one dog per 2 person, so the other one can take photos. Walk about 8 km by the Bear Trail. In a half way having a little snack by the open fire and then coming back to starting place . Or you can also choose soup lunch in our own Safaricafe SUSI. Kiutaköngäs in about 40 km from Ruka

Transport to Riisitunturi or coming by your own car. Meet the huskies, guidance, we choose husky to you and you get a belt and leash. Also possible to have one dog per 2 person, so the other one can take photos. Walk about 10 km. In a half way having a little snack by the open fire and then coming back to starting place. After the hike we can visit Korpihilla deli-shop or Pot Nova Ceramics. Riisitunturi is about 54 km from Ruka centre.

Guided BEARTRAIL trekking
50-years old BEARTRAIL in the Oulanka National Pan Park always suprices the visitors. Beautiful scenery, big walleys, hanging-bridges....BASIC Program: Here is the basic programme, but we can also change programme depending on the weather and the group. Overnights basics in a tens, but if there is room in the cabins, sometimes we can also use them. But you must be flexible, be repared to wet and rainy days.
Additional package: You can book the accommodations before and after the trip by yourself OR you can buy the whole package from us ( from pick up from airport/busstation in Kuusamo and all accommodations and then back to airport/busstation. Read more...
